What educators are saying

I teache GATE scholars and used bits and pieces of this resource with my multiple intelligence unit, and the kids really enjoyed the information.
This is one of my favorite books, and I love that these activities teach the kids that everyone is smart is multiple different ways! This is a great beginning of the year activity.

Description

The Smart Cookie by Jory John is a great book to teach students that everyone is smart in different ways and the importance of perseverance. It is also the perfect segue into a study of multiple intelligences. This The Smart Cookie Book Companion requires students to delve into analyzing and interpreting literature. This book companion is jam-packed with resources that provide opportunities for your students in grades 2-4 to think critically and creatively, analyze the author's craft, and make connections to self and the real world.

The many activities are aligned to the Common Core Standards in Reading, Writing, and Language. You will also find posters and activities about the 8 multiple intelligences by Howard Gardner.

Be sure to check out the PREVIEW for a more comprehensive view of what is included and get a FREE SAMPLER.

You can use the materials with a whole class, with small groups, in a center, early finishers, or for independent study. For younger students, I would recommend it as a read-aloud. No matter which grade level you teach, there are plenty of activities for you to choose from and allow you to differentiate according to your students' needs.
