Description

This power-point, which is simply a combination of three individual PowerPoint’s, contains 34 slides that cover everything from the origins of the Renaissance in Italy and its spread north to the long term impact of the Renaissance and an examination of the big names of the era . Each slide is designed to incorporate full color vivid images of Renaissance art as well as to deliver content in a flexible way with three clicks per slide (1st click = art, 2nd click = topic question, 3rd click = notes/answer to topic question).
The curriculum in these slides aligns perfectly with the California State Standards for History and most recent California textbook adoptions. What makes these power-points special is the captivating Renaissance Art on each slide which really brings the curriculum to life and helps students to visualize Renaissance Italy! They look great on a whiteboard!

The notes are based on an outline format and each slide contains a guiding question, which is displayed after the first click such as “How did trade with Asia help start the Renaissance in Europe?” and “Why is the city of Florence so important to the Renaissance?”. After the second click on each slide, the answer to the question is revealed, thus completing the question/answer set contained in each slide. This format allows the teacher to guide instruction one essential question at a time, either using the notes as lecture aid or by assigning each research question one at a time and then comparing and discussing responses.

Other topics addressed include “How did people in the Renaissance see the world in a new way?”, “How did European’s discover the past?” “Who were the two master of Renaissance Art?” “I What discoveries were taking place in Science and Education? “ and “What impact did paper and printing have on the Renaissance?” “What was the Northern Renaissance?” “B. How was the art of the Northern Renaissance unique?”

These PowerPoints cover three sections of the same “chapter” and should take about a week to cover.
