What educators are saying

I felt that this was a perfect companion for the text. It was easy to follow and went at a great pace.
This resource helped guide my teaching of the perks of being a wallflower. I use it with my summer school kiddos.

    Description

When you purchase this unit at the discounted bundle price, it's like getting 4 Perks of Being a Wallflower resources for FREE!

Everything is now printable and digital to easily adapt to your classroom!

This 240+ page product includes everything you will need to teach the popular, inspiring story of The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky! Everything in this bundle has been tested out in my own classroom and deemed successful for engagement, challenge, and accuracy. It is guaranteed to save you A TON of time.

Since the novel does not have chapters, I read through the novel and divided it into sections that fit well together creating a clear reading schedule while adding detailed discussion questions and answers for teachers along with other unit elements. This discussion guide/reading schedule is a huge time-saver and guaranteed to help you stay on track, organized, challenging your students with higher-order thinking, and it will also do the bulk of the work in leading an entire class period's discussion with your students.

In addition to the discussion guide, I have created a wide range of engaging and creative resources in this bundle that you can choose from. I provided a clear pacing guide that uses majority of the materials for those who like having structured plans. For teachers who love variety to choose from, this bundle is a great resource for you as well.

This product is bound to help students connect with the novel through creative materials and think bigger while you have little prep work to do!

    Items included in this bundle:

    • Topics/themes in novel
    • Symbols in novel
    • Objectives for unit
    • Overall unit notes and ideas
    • Detailed Teacher Notes/Teaching Aspects for ENTIRE Novel: When I read through the novel, I essentially took detailed notes so I would not have to re-read each section the night before teaching it. I took the reading and separated it into sections in which I wrote out a summary of each section and then a detailed analysis. The analysis focuses on different scenes in the reading that serve as teaching aspects, how the section ties in with the rest of the novel/scaffolding, and in-depth/thoughtful discussion questions to use with your class as you read. Instead of re-reading the book before class, I just look over my summary and analysis notes before class.
