Description

At times it appears that we are always in a race to master rigorous content standards at every grade-level. As administrators we must actively monitor our classrooms to ensure that adequate progress is occurring school-wide. In an effort to ensure that our teachers are continuously improving academically, I designed a check-in goal folder system for teachers to confirm that as a campus we are maintaining our goal focus towards continuous improvement. In order to do so, we are having every instructor routinely take a PIT- STOPS during this academic race to ensure that we are not simply planning for teaching, but we are indeed, planning for learning. As an administrator at the elementary level, I am committed to establishing expectations for learning. I want to make certain that our students are able to stand firm academically at the foundational level.

In a Nascar race, each driver must periodically take a pit-stop to service their vehicle during the course of the race. A race car driver must pit-stop in order to endure the pace of the race and finish the race at a high level of proficiency. I like to say that as teachers we are the vehicle of learning for our children, and at times we must also make a pit-stop to analyze, retool, refresh and refine our craft to make certain that learning occurs for every child under our guidance. Our PIT-STOP is designed to keep us as a staff committed to and accountable for, authentically engaging our students in learning what has been taught. We cannot simply set goals; it is inevitable that we are achieving goals in pursuit of academic excellence for every student under our guidance. Establish a goal folder for teachers on your campus today!!!
