The Number Line Solution Summary
- PPTX
Description
This MS PowerPoint presentation provides an introduction to the Number Line and how it can be used in math class. It presents an easy-to-understand, step by step technique for using the Number Line to solve addition and subtractions problems. The slides are highly animated to keep the students alert and focused on the content under review. I always print out a copy of my PPT presentation slides for each of my students to take notes on as desired.
I use this presentation in my 6th Grade and 7th Grade classes as part of my initial instruction when reviewing the Unit on Number Sense or Number Theory/Operations.
The presentation slidepack includes the following Table of Contents:
- Number Line
• Basics
• Coordinate or Graph Grid
• Operations
- Various Work Problem Examples
- YOUR TURN
Following the first section titled "Number Line", the detailed solution of seven (7) different types of example problems that use a simple 3-step solution process are included. In addition a blank solution template is included for use by the students in solving other Number Line problems as assigned by the teacher. All answers are provided for each of these seven (7) problems but the answers fly in from the side of the slide with a mouse click by the teacher. This gives the students an opportunity to solve the problems first before the answers are shown.
The last section includes five (5) Number Line problems for the students to complete. The answers to each of these 5 problems are also included and like above, these answers also fly in from the side of the slide with a mouse click by the teacher.
Please note that the native MS PPT file is included so that any of the slides can be modified as desired by the teacher/end user. There are a total of 17 slides in the slidepack.
