"The Little Red Hen" story is great for teaching responsibility and community. It also makes a wonderful student performance for a concert or parent night.
I have done all of the work for you - 4 different sets of slides included for The Little Red Hen:
Want to just read the story? Then use the first set of pages to show the text and animals (without instruments).
Want to use the story along with instruments? Use the second set of slides, which shows a different classroom percussion instrument for each of the 6 animals that the little red hen encounters
Want to use it to help your students practice singing melodies of so-mi? Use the third set of slides that shows a melody for each of the little red hen's responses as well as instrument for the animals.
Want to use it to help your students practice singing melodies of la? Use the last set of slides that shows a so-mi-la melody and instrument.
There are lots of different options with this, and the sheet music is provided for easy use and in color and in black and white. My students just love adding instruments to this well-known song and story. Even very young students will be able to play along to "The Little Red Hen."
