The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: A Common Core Book Study

“The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” by C. S. Lewis is one of my favorite novels of all time. I have always enjoyed reading it to my own children and my advanced students. While this book study may be appropriate for other grades, it is aligned to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade standards listed in the preview file. This book study includes:

-3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Common Core Standards

-Vocabulary Organizer

-For each of the 17 chapters in the book you will receive:

-a basic guideline for that chapter’s activities

-key vocabulary cards

-a short answer comprehension test (usually 10-14 questions)

-1 – 2 writing/critical thinking/student response activities such as cause and effect organizer, character maps, Venn diagrams, and many more

- An end of book theme essay activity

-Answer keys for all comprehension test questions

- Free Biblical reference guide to Christian symbolism in the book
