Description

Help guide students to write a strong, detailed paragraph while reviewing the concept of main idea & supporting details by using the mentor text, The Important Book! Using a modeled, paragraph writing formula, students will connect the concept of identifying a main idea and supporting it with examples by writing a paragraph showcasing their very own favorite winter activity! As a culminating and fun craft activity, students will create their own “snow globe” to showcase their winter writing project! Students will be encouraged in the use of strong vocabulary and transitional words, linking strong examples to main ideas, and creating a fun display all in this one winter activity writing set! A rubric emphasizing Common Core standards is included to make assessing this paragraph a breeze! Finally, students can publish their essays and create an enticing display of beautiful snow globes for the hallway!

Includes the following:

*teacher instructions

*rich vocabulary list for writing

*graphic organizer/brainstorming sheet (and sample)

*paragraph formula rough draft sheet

*snow globe directions (and example)

*student friendly rubric for assessment
