Description

Hello, in The House on Mango Street Figurative Language Slides, you will be able to find one document with instruction and access to Google Slides. This Google Slides has 10 different slides for students to write notes about the figurative language found in the novel. This is an excellent way for students to learn about figurative language because it provide definitions and pictures. You don't need to plan for this activity, but I recommend reading the novel. You will need to upload this presentation on Google Classroom, and you will need to assign this as material. If you are unable to have access, please notify The English Teacher Secondary for feedback.

Students will be learning about the following terms:

  • Alliteration
  • Personification
  • Metaphor
  • Simile
  • Onomatopoeia
  • Hyperbole
  • Symbolism
  • Allusion
