    Description

This bundle includes my 3 different PowerPoints on the history of tabletop games. Included are The History of Card Games, The History of Board Games, and The Evolution of Chess. Each presentation takes me two days to deliver to my game design classes. On the last slide of each PowerPoint are a series of questions that can be copied off and pasted into a word document or virtual learning environment class which require the students to answer one question per slide to ensure they are paying attention during the presentation. Each PowerPoint has an accompanying audio recording of me discussing the history shown on the slides in more depth.

Here are the descriptions of each PowerPoint:

The History of Board Games: This is a Power Point covering the history of board games worldwide. It starts with the origination of dice and goes through all of world history up to the latest European Board Game wave.

The History of Card Games: This PowerPoint covers the entire history of card games from their origination in China through modern times with collectible card games. Changes to the standard deck of cards are tracked. Important historical card games are also covered.

The Fascinating Evolution of Chess: This is a PowerPoint covering the entire history of the evolution of chess into modern games. Each important change along the way is covered as chess transformed from its early form as Chaturanga in India, into war games in Prussia, and finally into modern role-playing games in the United States. Most people are completely unaware of this fascinating history. The slides often include background notes and explanations for the presenter.

For the history of video games please see my other PowerPoint here:
