Description

This is a fantastic novel to read with middle school students or advanced intermediate grade students. The Glass Sentence is the first novel in a trilogy.

The novel study includes chapter checks for all 39 chapters, an answer key, mini activity ideas, and a culminating PBL that incorporates Social Studies and Language Arts standards. The novel can be read as a whole class read aloud, independent reading, as a literature circle, or small group book study.

There is one page for each chapter and the pages can be printed front and back to copy two chapters on one page. Not only is this a paper saver, but also a time saver!

The short answer questions provide a variety of written responses, such as open ended, predictions, inferences, making connections, citing evidence from the text, and comprehension. The multiple-choice questions check for understanding and comprehension. Each chapter has a different grammar skill to review, too.

There are mini project ideas for several chapters that encourage creativity and a different approach to citing text evidence. This is perfect for the artistic students in the class!

The novel study and culminating project can also fit into an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. The project can enhance the learning of any of the six transdisciplinary themes because the students will be creating their place in the world.
