Description

This is a lesson plan that uses the video of Peter H. Reynold's The Dot to address social and emotional needs that young students (especially gifted students) often face. The lesson includes a synopsis of the video/book, a menu of introductory activities, discussion questions about the video, and a menu of follow up activities. Issues that these activities help children discuss are fear of failure, self-consciousness, facing challenges, underachievement, humility, advocacy and support, empathy, peer relations, self-confidence, and being well-rounded.
