What educators are saying

This was the perfect way to talk about character development. Students were hanging off of every word!
This was a FANTASTIC resource! My students loved the podcast and the worksheet. They were totally engaged from the beginning to the end! I will be adding this to my files for future use.

Description

Looking for fun after state testing activities or ways to wrap things up at the end of the year? Check out these podcast worksheets for The Creeping Hour! Students from 4th to 7th grade LOVE listening to these creepy 15:00 episodes while working through the paired podcast listening worksheets.

These five terrifying tales are easy to plug in after each state testing session, on early release days, during Halloween, or even last-minute sub plans.

What is The Creeping Hour podcast?

The Creeping Hour is a 5-episode podcast that tells horror stories in 15 minutes or less. Don't worry; they aren't overly creepy and won't give your kids nightmares. Each episode is a stand-alone story, so you can plug an episode into your lesson plans anywhere you need it!

⭐ Halloween

⭐ Before/After Break

⭐ After State Testing Activities

⭐ End of the Quarter

⭐ End of Year Activities

⭐ Sub Plans

⭐ Short Days/Modified Schedules

⭐ ... you name it!

What do The Creeping Hour podcast worksheets review?

For each episode, I've provided a two-paged podcast worksheet that includes the following:

  • Side 1: Listening Activity - Illustrate the setting, conflict, etc. OR a word search
  • Side 2: Post-Listening Activity - ELA Standards-based questions and a fun writing prompt

Each episode + activity takes no more than 30 minutes! Oftentimes, they can be completed in 20-25 minutes, depending on how long you let your students work.

Plus, the podcast listening worksheets are included in both printable & digital (Google Slides) formats, so they are truly no prep!

Why Teachers Love To Use These After State Testing Activities:

Since The Creeping Hour podcast episodes are short & sweet, it is an easy, low-pressure, and (mostly) tech-free way to boost listening comprehension and keep students engaged when it seems tough to do - like after state testing or at the end of year.
