Description

The Founding Fathers were concerned with one person having too much power in a government. Their solution to this problem was the Separation of Powers. The US government is divided into three branches of government and each is checked by the other. Give your students and opportunity to examine this material and much more with this great activity. Digital and Paper Copies Included!

This "The Constitution- Separation of Powers" Distance Learning Pack includes:

1) 4 pages of engaging graphic organizers that help your students sort out all of the key concepts about the separation of powers identify the key powers of the three branches of government. Students will then see the checks that each branch has on the others. Following this, students are given real and made up scenarios that ask them to use the checks and balances system to determine the process of blocking the actions of other branches.

This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
