This is a complete lesson has 10 printable student worksheets and activities, a lesson plan, a quiz, and a 25 slide power point with animations that your students will adore! This comprehensive lesson contains everything you need to teach your students about the circulatory system, the heart that keeps it running, blood cells, blood vessels, arteries, veins and more. This is not an average or basic foundational lesson that just barely touches on these concepts. With the incredible animations included in this power point and the strategically crafted printable worksheets and quiz, your students will understand the circulatory system, the heart, blood and blood vessels on a deep and rich level in a memorable way.

This lesson addresses the guiding question “How does the circulatory system pump blood and nutrients to your body and vital organs?” Students will take notes on their student note-taker provided, while they listen to you teach a direct instruction lesson that goes along with the 25 slide animated power point included in this product. Your students will learn so much from the carefully thought out animations included in this presentation. You won’t see animations like this anywhere else with the well thought out and carefully timed animations designed to enhance their knowledge on how the heart circulates blood cells and nutrients through the body’s blood vessels. The animations are pre-timed and carefully crafted to not require any work on your part other than read the words on the slide and add your own instruction if you so choose. This lesson and power point was created by an experienced 4th-5th grade science teacher. It will be very engaging for your students with meaningful examples and colorful animations on nearly every slide! They will also finish the power point presentation with a practice quiz with five questions at the end of the power point to help them assess their own understanding before they take the paper quiz.

This unit will fill at least three science blocks but potentially even four or five depending on the length of your science period and if you use all of the printable pages. To finish off the lesson, students will have the opportunity to take an 18 question end of unit quiz to assess their knowledge about everything they have learned about the circulatory system, the hear, blood and blood vessels.
