The Butterfly Blues

This Arts-Integrated Thematic Unit focuses on the life cycle of butterflies. At the center of the unit is an original song/book, "The Butterfly Blues", which tells the story of a caterpillar who faces a dilemma: he has 16 legs but he only has 6 shoes. But fear not! Butterflies only have 6 legs, so it will all work out in the end.

Whether you’re a teacher with a whole classroom full of children who needs to plan a semester-long unit about butterflies, or a parent looking to add a little more science, art and music to your child’s life, The Butterfly Blues is meant for you! The unit has three main components:
