Description

Little gray Rabbit started out on Easter Sunday looking for Easter eggs. During the hunt he happily helped others find eggs. He ended up with a dull white egg which hatched into a duckling. He declared it to be the best Easter egg ever. The story showed how acts of kindness was rewarding and a gift in itself.

The lesson comes in three parts. The first read focus on retell. The second read focus on story elements for literary analysis. The third read focus on vocabulary. The extension activities support the three reads.

The lessons are designed to develop active listening, create a collaborative effort to build comprehension, promote oral language development through discussions and respond to literature through writing. The focused instruction and activities of each lesson are to support students in being critical thinkers and meeting the Common Core Standards.
