Great resource for my kindergarten students. It was used in class and was well received by students and parents.

Description

Students will love learning facts about the American Flag. This book reads as follows:

Title page: The American Flag

Page 1 This is the American Flag.

Page 2 The color of the American Flag is red, white and blue.
White signifies purity and innocence. Red signifies
valor and bravery. Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance,
and justice.

Page 3 The American Flag has thirteen stripes. One for each
original state. The stripes are red and white.

Page 4 There are fifty stars on the flag. One for each state.

Page 5 We pledge allegiance to our flag each day at school and at
special events.

Page 6 The American Flag is sometimes called “Stars and
Stripes”, “Old Glory”, and “The Star Spangled Banner”.

Page 7 We display the American Flag from sunrise to sunset each
day at schools and public buildings.

Page 8 When two or more flags are flown from the same pole, the
American Flag must be on top.

Page 9 The American Flag is flown at half-staff to show grief for
lives lost.

Page 10 The American Flag should never be allowed to touch the
ground.

Page 11 Betsy Ross made our first American Flag.
