Description

The Alpinist is a documentary on Netflix that features climber Marc-Andre Leclerc. This unit study is a guide to presenting the documentary to students in 4 parts and covers multiple CCSS each day through both engaging group and independent activities. There are multiple themes within the documentary that lend itself to being engaging and entertaining for students - while also presenting multiple learning opportunities.

Each day has a Google Slides presentation with a, Objective, Do Now: Quickwrite, Notes for students to take, an Overview of the Partner Work and Independent Work. The Partner Work consists of watching the specified section of the documentary and answering questions together on a graphic organizer. The Independent Work consists of students answering 1-2 questions on their own.

Students will complete work on Google Slides pages that allow them to type on the graphic organizers without the templates being edited. These assignment can all be assigned on Google Classroom for easy submission and grading.
