What educators are saying

I appreciate how the resource is broken down. It covers many skills that I want to reinforce with my students.
I love this book, and this supplement was perfect for my fifth graders during the first week of school. It was very engaging!

Description

Thank You, Mr. Falker includes everything you need to make your read aloud time interactive. It contains Pre-Reading Activities like a Word Splash and Anticipation Guide; Vocabulary Posters and Learning Objectives; Discussion Points and Interactive Note-Booking Activities to use during the read aloud, Post-Reading Assessments and Writing Projects, as well as much more!

Patricia Polacco tells us an emotional story about herself, Trisha, as a young girl in elementary school. She desperately wants to learn to read, but feels “different” and “dumb” as reading is very challenging for her. Trisha's classmates tease her and call her “dummy”, “toad”, and “maggoty old dumbbell”. Luckily, her 5th grade teacher, Mr. Falker, is a very special and compassionate man. He discovers Trisha still does not know how to read and has dyslexia. Alongside Miss Plessy, the reading teacher, he dedicates his time after to school to teaching Trisha how to read.
