What educators are saying

This is awesome! I can't wait to use this in my classroom for years to come! My kids LOVED this so much and it really was a great incentive during testing time!
My students are getting ready for the MAPS Test and we have really been trying to amp up our motivation for testing! This was a great way to get students excited about the test! Thank you!

Description

Everything you need to keep your students motivated during testing season! Bookmarks, door hangers, snack tags, editable personalized notes, the Effort Celebration Box and more! Get ready to have some super excited test-takers!

"Testing Season" can lead to stress, anxiety, and total burn-out for everyone involved. This product will combat those negative emotions and bring joy to your students during the days/weeks of important tests!

What's Included in the Testing Motivation Pack:

30 pages of motivation and encouragement, including editable slides!

  • Editable Test Taking Tips Bookmarks
  • Door Hangers
  • 4 different notes of encouragement
  • Halfway Note for the halfway point
  • Editable Student Notes (my example is included to give you ideas)
  • 4 different Testing Snack Tags
  • Effort Celebration Box signs (known as "The Testing Box")
  • Effort Celebration Item List (my version, AND editable slides)
  • Free Time Coupons (color & black and white)
  • Testing Crowns for ELA, Math, and Science (aka "Victory Crowns" in my classroom... you will need sentence strips for each student to make your crowns!)
  • 6 Motivational Posters that can be printed on colored paper, or given to students to color in as a brain-break activity! If your school has a poster machine, these are great to turn into large posters to hang around your room or hallway to encourage all students in the days leading to the test!

This product is really easy to navigate. I've included text boxes that you will type directly in to edit the slides as you need. Use my ideas as a guide for your own Effort Celebration, OR create your own itemized list!

Check "motivate students for testing" off your To-Do List. I've got you covered!

What is the Effort Celebration Box?

I put a box out as the test nears with the "Do Not Open" sign on it (included in this resource). The box sits out until all testing is completed, then we open it together. Inside the box are items that we will use for our Effort Celebration, or a party to celebrate all their hard work during testing. I go into detail about this in my blog posts, so feel free to check it out there! You can put anything you want in the box, (I provide a list of ideas in this resource) the anticipation is what motivates students and they will be excited no matter what!

Disclaimer: I have a Master's in Educational Psychology so I am fully aware of the difference between intrinsic/extrinsic motivation and the importance of student self-motivation in school. HOWEVER, I am also a third grade teacher and I know my students need to have a little fun and might need an extra boost of encouragement... especially around testing time!

They looked forward to opening the testing box each day and they were soooo excited for their activities! I ended up doing free recess, extra tech time, board game time, and even the whipped cream plop challenge! I will be doing this every year for state testing! Thank you for a wonderful resource!" - Elisa K.
