Task Analysis Activity
- Word Document File
Description
This is an activity for students with challenges in organization, planning, task initiation, task follow-through, long term assignments and projects. When done as a group or partner activity, this can also be used to teach strategies collaboration skills. Cut out the cards for one of the FIVE activity choices. Scramble them up and ask students to put them in order of how they would complete the assignment or task. Have students explain their thought process about which sequence they choose. For students with time management challenges, have them estimate how long each piece of the task should take them to complete. You can also ask them what supplies may be needed, where to find information if needed, who can help them if they get stuck, etc. For students struggling with group or partner projects, I have them work with a peer or two on this activity and encourage them to talk with each other about the reasoning behind their strategies to complete the task. This encourages peer collaboration.
