What educators are saying

This resource was such a great way for my students to visually understand beginning, middle, and end. I will be using again next year!
This was a super cute craft to use to practice main idea! I typed up a taco passage to go with it and the students had a lot of fun creating their tacos instead of just answering questions.

Description

Cook up some fun with this simple taco craft to teach main idea and details! This taco visual will stick with students and give them an easy way to think about main idea and supporting details in various books.

Students will write the main idea on the taco shell and the supporting details on cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Additional worksheets are included for students to identify the main idea and details of any text.

What's Included:

  • Main Idea and Details Anchor Chart pieces (can be used with a pocket chart too!)
  • Main Idea and Details Printable Worksheet (can be used with any book)
  • Main Idea and Details Taco Craft Pieces

I recommend using the included pieces to create an anchor chart about themain idea and detail with your students. Then students can make the taco craft The additional worksheets can be used throughout the school year to review the concept.

This taco craft is easy to print and use right away. No colored ink is required! Just print on colored paper or students can even color it themselves!
