Description
Based on a Frederick Douglass biography rap song, these synonyms and antonyms passage questions for middle school have multiple-choice answers that target content-vocabulary words from the song lyrics which are used as a reading passage.
The song for this activity explores his adult life, beginning with his escape from slavery, career as an abolitionist, and his involvement with the American Civil War.

Accommodate your students using audio!
Do you teach EL/ESL or SPED students/SWDs? Have them use the song as a read-aloud with subtitles. Students can also slow down the song to make listening and comprehension easier. Instructions are embedded into the activity for students.

How to Use This in Google Classroom:
Use the link in the download to copy our Google Form to your Google Drive. Assign the Google Form to your students by sharing a link, sending an email, or using Google Classroom.
