    Based on history and ELA rap songs, these activities will keep your students engaged using song lyrics as reading passages as they determine the meaning of unknown words.

    Students will listen to the songs then use the song lyrics as reading passages to complete the activities detailed below. These passages contain many content-vocabulary words, giving students excellent vocabulary practice.

    Kids love music and will certainly enjoy inferring the meaning of vocabulary words and identifying their synonyms and antonyms with these songs and activities. These activities also feature simple explanations of what synonyms, antonyms, and context clues are and highlight clues from the passages to guide students' comprehension.

    All of these activities have multiple-choice questions with answer keys for easy grading. We've also included our context clues, graphic organizer which easily turns any passage into an extra activity. Use it for early finishers or just to give your students additional practice.
