Symmetry Bugs Art & Pattern Activity
This activity can yield stunning results particularly if you encourage the kids to add as much detail as they can.
Students are asked to fold a page in half in any way they wish and then to draw one half of a bug or insect. It may exist or not exist. Their imagination is the limit. When they have finished one side they put their drawing up against window/lightbox or use the indentations on page to duplicate the design on the other side. Then outline and colour in. They add so much colour to the classroom and the students learned a lot about symmetry when they opened the design up to see things weren't what they imagined.
Package includes a PowerPoint, PDF of Powerpoint and Powerpoint as images all in a .zip file.
