Description

Sustainable CEOs -- Build a Sustainable Business

Background Information

Welcome to Sustainable CEOs, an engaging project-based learning unit! In this project, your students will assume two different roles with an international corporation. First, they will be acting as CEOs and, in doing so, they will research the current sustainability efforts from the company regarding the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social. Second, they will be a member of the Board of Directors of all other companies to question and support the mission of updating the sustainability plan. The inspiration for this project came from my passion for environmental conservation, current events, and global sustainability. Students are asked to do following throughout their adventures as CEOs:

  1. Research current sustainability plans
  2. Research criticisms from the public towards their company
  3. Present initial findings to their peers
  4. Develop questions as Board of Directors
  5. Develop an upgraded and improved sustainability plan
  6. Present new findings and plan to Board of Directors
