Super Fun, Ultra-Customisable MATH-and-MATCH Game! Add, Subtract, Multiply!
- Word Document File
Description
Hello, and welcome to my store!
This is a game I initially designed for my students to practice basic addition. However, the way I designed it, it has a highly customisable gameplay that can be easily modified for subtraction or even multiplication! Game rules can also be tweaked to make the math easier, harder, or more rewarding, as you wish.
NOTE BEFORE BUYING: To fully enjoy this game, it's highly recommended you have a set of Monopoly money, and some 10-sided dice (preferably at least two dice with numbers from 0 to 90, and two with numbers from 0 to 9). You can, of course, substitute with regular dice, playing cards, or the spinner wheels included in the last page of the packet, but gameplay will be slower, and if using regular dice, students won't be able to practice adding/subtracting/multiplying with the higher digits (7-9).
You can get a free set of (printable) Monopoly money here: http://amysullivan.weebly.com/uploads/3/0/8/6/3086958/printable-monopoly-money-color.pdf

If you have a phone or a tablet, another great alternative is a free Random Number Generator app, such as this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.uxapps.random&hl=en_US
How to play: A full set of rules are included in the packet. The basic premise of the game is to earn money by doing math, and use the money to "buy" a complete set of 4 picture cards. Players roll the dice and calculate the sum, difference or product of the numbers shown (depending on the game mode), which counts as the "money" earned for that round. Players keep a record of how much money they've earned on a tally sheet. When the tally sheet is full, the money earned can be "cashed in" (exchanged) for Monopoly money, which the players can then use to buy picture fragments to complete their set. At the end of the game, the player with the most complete sets is the winner (Alternatively, for a quicker game: the first player to complete a full set wins the game).
