Summer Bingo in Spanish Bingo de Verano Lotería de Verano

Summer Bingo in Spanish (Bingo de Verano o Lotería de Verano) is the perfect way to practice Spanish vocabulary related to summer and summer vacation. This activity is great for most ages and grades and is a fun Spanish classroom activity for the end of the school year or Spanish summer school program.

This Summer Bingo en Español set includes 30 unique, pre-filled Bingo game boards (Summer-themed, of course) and corresponding calling cards. There's also a blank Bingo board and a dashed cut-and-paste Bingo board option to allow students to assemble their own individual Summer Bingo boards. This is a great activity if you have younger students or children who benefit from additional fine motor practice. It can also be a fun way to let middle and high schoolers engage in some cut and paste fun, since they hardly ever get to do that in the upper grades.

The pre-filled cards include both the image and the corresponding Spanish vocabulary word. However, if you want to differentiate the activity, there are several cut-and-paste versions at the end to make this possible. This Bingo de Verano can be played a total of four ways:

1. Pre-filled cards, with images and Spanish vocabulary combined

2. Cut-and-paste cards with images and Spanish vocabulary combined

3. Cut-and-paste cards with only the images (no vocabulary). The caller would read the vocabulary word and the student would have to successfully identify the image by remembering the corresponding Spanish vocabulary word.

4. Cut-and-paste cards with only the Spanish vocabulary word. The caller could call out the English word, (a rainbow, for example), and the student would have to successfully identify the corresponding vocabulary word (un arcoiris).

Using the different versions will help you extend the game and fun and it's great for differentiating by age and ability.

*Updated: This product has been opted-in to the TPT Digital Overlay feature. This feature, run by TPT, will allow you to assign the pages/Bingo Boards to your students digitally. You can have students randomly select a page to use as their board or you can assign particular boards to particular students. Then they can mark off their boxes with the pen tool.

If you are conducting distance learning via Zoom, Collaborate, or some other software, I find it easiest to have students download the pdf and print out a board, if they have a printer available (black and white is fine-- the color images are very clear in gray-scale). For students that don't have the printing option, the digital overlay feature and digital pen tool can be a great alternative. (You could also send home a Bingo board for students in their distance learning packets, if your school is doing those.)
