Student Application for Classroom Office Assistant

Your students will clamor to fill out this application! In my classroom, the kids that are interested in being the classroom assistant for a week fill out the application, turn it back in to me and I actually talk to at least one of their references, in front of them if possible, before I approve them to “work”. I have a list of general jobs that the classroom assistant can do, but is not limited to, posted above a fun desk that is designated just for this person. The desk is filled with extra supplies, a pencil sharpener, and other tools that the assistant might need throughout the day. Some students get “hired” into this position a couple of times in the year, while others don’t get to be hired at all. (They might have skills that let them shine somewhere else within our classroom community.) I use this in my 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English classroom, but I’ve seen it used in as low as a 2nd grade classroom. It’s great “real world” experience for sure! Enjoy! -SheridanMedia
