Structure of Government - Textbook and Debate
- Google Docs™
Description
This activity provides secondary government students with a solid background on the structure of governments - not only in the USA but around the world!
Included in this resource is a slide-deck of Google slides with an engaging "Monty Python" hook video where your class can brainstorm how governments related to the video clip.
In addition, students will use an open-source government textbook (link included) to gain background knowledge on the structure of government. The concluding "exit ticket" of this resource is a short written or verbal response (possibly a class debate) in which students argue which level of government is the most effective.
This resource is part of an entire unit (perfect introductory unit for semester-long government classes) on the purpose, function, and structure of governments.
