Strong Verbs: Reading and Writing Workshop Mini-Lesson

Strong verbs can make or break a piece of writing. Students don't just need to be able to identify strong verbs; they need to understand why writers use strong verbs and how to use strong verbs in their writing. Students should be exposed to well-written literature that acts as a model for their writing.

This mini-lesson introduces students to strong verbs. It includes a presentation to cover strong verbs, a student reference notes handout, two practice tasks, an application task for literature, and an application task to improve student writing.
