Story Cards - Monster Magic

Story Cards are a wonderful way to incorporate elements of imaginative narrative, sequencing, speaking and listening skills, and collaboration at any age. This collection includes Monster-inspired watercolor images with unique characters and settings designed to facilitate creative storytelling. Some of the benefits of these materials include:

A Few Ways to Play:

- Round-Robin Story:

• Deal a set of cards to each child. The first person to go draws one card from their pile and uses the image to inspire the first part of a story. The next person to go draws one card from their pile and tells the next part of the story. And so on. Each of the children takes turns telling part of the story based on the image they pick. The story is finished when the children feel it has finished.
• Skills: Listening, Communication, Sequencing, Storytelling

- Tell-A-Story

• Children take turns picking 4-6 cards at random, formulate a story based on the images depicted on the cards, and tell the story to another child.
• Skills: Story Development, Sequencing, Verbal Communication

- Write-A-Story

• Children choose 4-6 cards at random, formulate a story based on the images depicted on the cards, and write down their words.
