Who doesn't love some Stone Soup?! Use this companion with the Ann McGovern version of the story.
-Pages 3-7: In My Soup game! Make as many copies as needed of the soup bowl/table templates (pages 3&4). Cut and laminate the cards on page 5-7. Have all cards face down on the table. Students take turns choosing one card at a time. Then, use the item on the card in a sentence, “I like ____ in my soup” or “I do not like ____ in my soup.”
-Pages 8-9: Story Sequencing cut and paste activity.
-Page 10: Story Graphic Organizer
-Page 11: My Soup Party! Creative activity
-Pages 12-15: Large Story Characters/Items. Purposely left open ended for lots of activity opportunities! Some ideas:
1. Cut and laminate the characters/story items. Attach them to a popsicle stick for retelling activities.
2. Attach the pot to a basket and add the food items to the pot/basket as you readthe story.
Pages 16-17: Following Directions Coloring Activity. 1 step and temporal directions included.
