What educators are saying

My students loved these activities. We were able to use these activities in speech therapy for a couple of weeks. They especially liked retelling the story with a 'puppet show'.
this resource is great for teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing. so many different language and comprehension targets.

Description

Who doesn't love some Stone Soup?! Use this companion with the Ann McGovern version of the story.

-Pages 3-7: In My Soup game! Make as many copies as needed of the soup bowl/table templates (pages 3&4). Cut and laminate the cards on page 5-7. Have all cards face down on the table. Students take turns choosing one card at a time. Then, use the item on the card in a sentence, “I like ____ in my soup” or “I do not like ____ in my soup.”

-Pages 8-9: Story Sequencing cut and paste activity.

-Page 10: Story Graphic Organizer

-Page 11: My Soup Party! Creative activity

-Pages 12-15: Large Story Characters/Items. Purposely left open ended for lots of activity opportunities! Some ideas:

1. Cut and laminate the characters/story items. Attach them to a popsicle stick for retelling activities.

2. Attach the pot to a basket and add the food items to the pot/basket as you readthe story.

Pages 16-17: Following Directions Coloring Activity. 1 step and temporal directions included.
