Description

Use my product to help your students write informational essays about Saint Patrick! They will read two texts, which will be cited as text evidence in their essays. This product guides students through writing a 5 paragraph essay; however, you may differentiate by utilizing the 1 paragraph model for students who aren't able to write 5 paragraphs. Grade their essays using the included Rubric. Display them using the clover-themed stationery. Perfect to use in the spring around March 17th, St. Patrick's Day!

This resource provides everything you need for St. Patrick's Day-themed informational writing in the classroom, library, homeschool, drama club, or beyond!

This BEST-SELLING product includes:

  1. Text 1: I wrote this text to give biographical information about St. Patrick.
  2. Text 2: I wrote this text to give more information about St. Patrick's Day.
  3. Writing Prompt & Tips: Explains the prompt and offers tips to help students do their best writing.
  4. Opinion Essay Poster: A handy reference sheet for students to put in their writing notebook or binder.
  5. Graphic Organizer: Help students visualize the components of an informational essay. Version A will help students write 1 paragraph. Version B will help students write 5 paragraphs.

  7. Stationery: Lined paper with shamrock border and four-leaf clovers.
  8. Rubric: Grade students' essays using this Common Core-aligned rubric. Version A is for 1 paragraph, and Version B is for 5 paragraphs.

Why buy writing resources from ink & us?

In the past, I have taught the 6-trait writing curriculum, Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop, and the SRSD model. I enjoyed using all of them, but my students still needed more explicit/direct writing instruction, specifically so they could write on-demand for standardized writing prompts. If this fits you - and this sounds like the support your students need - I hope you will try out my resources!
