What educators are saying

I saw your TikTok about the mats and immediately knew I needed to do them in my classroom. Thank you for this resource
You need this resource in your classroom! It is so unique, and watching the growth was astonishing! I highly recommend it!

Description

These blueprints can be used to create full sized spelling pattern reading mats, or they can be printed and used with students walking with their fingers to read and finger-walk across the board. There are details about the materials needed and sizing guidelines for creating your own mats included. Check out my tiktok for a tutorial on how to make them!

There are 3 CVC mats that have a missing initial sound. You can purchase clear pocket foam dice and insert my free grapheme cards to differentiate this activity. Strong readers can be given a challenge with digraphs and blends. Struggling readers can use their learned consonants. This activity will grow with your students and allow them to focus on reading rather than memorization. These CVC mats are a great way to practice nonsense word reading.

There are also mats for initial and final blends, the floss rule, vowel consonant e, r-controlled vowels, vowel teams, and soft g and c.

This resource also includes blank templates for you to create your own reading hopscotches! You can insert your own sight words or heart words to create additional fluency drills for your students.
