Description
Do you want your French students to feel more confident when speaking? Do you want them to be able to speak spontaneously with others? This resource aligns with the CEFR levels and the DELF expectations for A2-B1 where students can speak about familiar everyday topics - without writing or reading a dialogue! These scenarios are authentic prompts to help beginner students have conversation and allow more proficient learners to practice their oral grammar and vocabulary skills.
Use the prompts to help students speak spontaneously using learned grammar concepts (Les adjectifs; Le présent indicatif & conditionnel; Le passé composé & l'imparfait; Le futur simple) as well as vocabulary associated with topics that they should be familiar with: la famille, les passe-temps, les sports, le voyage, l’avenir etc.
How to use this resource:
- After teaching student grammar and vocabulary in your units, show the slides one at a time. Have students practice speaking with a partner or in small groups with or without referencing their notes
- Time the students to see how long they can keep up the conversation
- Use the prompts daily to start the class or to get your students speaking for the whole period!
- Students should be able to speak without writing a dialogue
- Included is a how-to guide to have a spontaneous conversation
- After working with these topics for a few weeks, they can complete the Tâche Orale using the Rubric included!
