    Description

    Hello!

I’ve combined all of my movie materials so that teachers can access them all in one download. If purchased individually the sum of these resources totals over $32. By bundling your purchases you are able to save over 25%! A total of 11 films are included.

Here are the included films and descriptions:

    “Nueba Yol”

Includes 25 questions on content and comprehension about the film Nueba Yol. The questions are aimed at an intermediate-high level of student. Many of the questions are intended to elicit conversation about the content.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    "La lengua de la mariposa"

This download includes 10 discussion questions for the film. Use the questions in a conversation practice with your students, or assign it as a writing exercise. The questions are aimed for an intermediate level or higher.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “No se aceptan devoluciones”

A packet for students studying the movie “Instructions Not Included” (“No se aceptan devoluciones”). The packet is composed completely in Spanish and is aimed at students with intermediate to advanced Spanish proficiency. The packet includes comprehension questions, identifying the characters, some new vocabulary words, and practice with the present subjunctive. I have also included the discussion questions as a separate download to facilitate preparation and organization.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “La misma luna”

A movie guide for Spanish students watching the film La Misma Luna. In addition to comprehension questions and new vocabulary, the packet focuses on important grammar points, namely the preterite (regular and irregular), ser vs. estar, por vs. para, present progressive and noun/adjective agreement. In addition to activities that help students practice these skills, the packet also includes many discussion questions on the film, on immigration and students' opinions regarding these topics. Depending on how you pace your class, you can spend 1-3 weeks on this unit.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “Entre nos”

Included with this download are 15 discussion questions for the Spanish movie, “Entre nos.” The questions are written in Spanish and are intended for higher-level high school or perhaps college-level students. Some questions involve multiple components, so depending on how much you do with them you could use the questions anywhere from one day to several.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “The Emperor’s New Groove”

I use this guide when showing “The Emperor's New Groove” to my Spanish I students. Whether you show the movie in English, Spanish, or with subtitles, you can use this worksheet to make sure students follow along. It can also add a cultural component by introducing some new vocabulary words. The worksheet includes some Spanish vocabulary that students can learn through watching the film. The other questions are all written in English. Great for a low-key day, when many students are out, or when combining with a history class.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “The Road to El Dorado”

I use this guide when showing “The Road to El Dorado” to my Spanish I students. Whether you show the movie in English, Spanish, or with subtitles, you can use this worksheet to make sure students follow along. It can also add a cultural component by introducing students to exploration and conquest of Latin America. The worksheet includes some Spanish vocabulary that students can learn through watching the film. The other questions are all written in English. Also great for a low-key day, when many students are out, or when combining with a history class.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “Diarios de motocicleta”

This is a film guide on “Diarios de motocicleta” for intermediate/advanced students of Spanish.

    The guide includes:

-Short reading introduction to the film

    -Writing assignment on politics

    -Comprehension questions on the film

-2 vocabulary lists: 1 on politics and 1 specific to vocabulary from the film

    - Essay prompt questions for students. There are six total questions for extended length writing compositions.

    - 1 full-length test (I distribute this as a take-home test, but you can certainly give it in class). This test includes: Vocabulary from the 2 lists, the perfect tenses which I choose to teach with this unit, film events that should be placed in chronological order, short writing response.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “Voces inocentes”

Included are 15 discussion questions intended to get students talking in Spanish about the film “Voces inocentes,” which focuses on the civil was in El Salvador. Questions are targeted toward students with a more advanced Spanish language skill set (high school level 3 and up).

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “La Sirga”

This is a film guide to the Spanish language movie La Sirga. I have included a link to a website where the film is currently accessible for free.

This download includes 8 vocabulary terms, 10 questions on content and comprehension about the film, and 5 discussion/opinion questions. The questions are aimed at an intermediate-high level of student. Many of the questions are intended to elicit extended conversation. As with all films, I highly suggest that you watch it on your own first. This particular film has some scenes that are only appropriate for an older audience, and a permission slip may be helpful.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    “El viaje de Carol”

This download includes a total of 28 questions about the film El viaje de Carol (Carol’s Journey) in Spanish. There are 21 comprehension questions that students will answer as they watch the film. These questions go in order. Included are 8 opinion questions. These will push students to discuss the film more in depth.

    -----------------------------------------------------

This download includes a total of 22 questions about the film El espíritu de la colmena (The Spirit of the Beehive) in Spanish. There are 16 comprehension questions that students will answer as they watch the film. These questions go in order. Included are 8 discussion/opinion questions. These will push students to discuss the film more in depth. Furthermore, there is a short introductory reading for the film that does not give away too much about the plot.
