Spanish Class Beginning-of-the-year Materials Bundle

This bundle includes materials for the teacher to use at the beginning of the school year.

• First Day Student Survey (Printable and Google Form) - This questionnaire is a good exercise to do the day you meet your students for the first time. It includes a total of 30 questions that you can ask them. These questions will give you some ideas on where to start. Feel free to add new ones and delete questions that are not relevant to your class. Use these questions as a guide to picking the ones you need. You can choose to use the editable Word version or create an editable copy of the Google form provided.

• Class Rules, Procedures, and Syllabus Booklet Template - Familiarize your students with the Spanish class content and the teacher procedures with an easy-to-use template to create your booklet. Use the editable template to complete the information about your class. You will be able to complete, delete, or add sections and move pages around as you need. Once you have your booklet ready you can make a hard copy for each student or use share the PDF electronically.

• 60 Scenes from Latin America and Spain Printable Posters - A set of 60 tabloid sizes (11″ x 17″) printable posters with beautiful scenes from Latin America, Spain, and Equatorial Guinea organized by country. Each scene is identified in the footer, plus the country name and flag are also featured. Many countries include more than one scene so you can choose or rotate your favorites. Use these posters to decorate your classroom at the beginning of the school year or to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

• Google Translate: Friend or Foe? Lesson Plan - Tackle this topic at the beginning of the school year before you even start with your first lesson. By the end of this lesson, students will have learned the downsides of using the translation tool Google Translate and how to use it instead in a way that supports their Spanish pronunciation practice. It also includes a companion article about Google Translate for teachers, slides, and a contract for students.
