Spanish - Affirmative Tu Commands - Introduction Lesson

This product is ideal for a Spanish 2 class when introducing the concept of affirmative tú commands. Specifically, this activity works with household chore vocabulary and other common verbs. It would be beneficial if students are familiar with household chore vocabulary prior to completing this activity. Both regular and irregular tú commands are included.

This activity is entirely student-centered and requires students to use critical-thinking skills as they make connections to previous verbs that they have learned, notice patterns between the verbs, and more. It is an excellent way to relinquish responsibility to the learner as they teach themselves affirmative tú commands.

Included in this product are:

- 26 cards (you must cut them up) that contain household chores vocabulary on separate cards such as "pon" (one card) and "la mesa" (a second card)

- guided note sheet for affirmative tú commands (regular and irregular commands)

- practice with writing out the tú commands of the household chores vocabulary

- an additional practice where students write the command based on the image and verb and then its translation in English. This activity comes with a basic rubric where students can either self-evaluate, peer-evaluate, or receive teacher feedback on their progress. Afterward, students reflect on the rubric and feedback.

Answer keys are included for each activity.
