Description

This workbook contains Strand E: Space Exploration worksheets for the new 2022 de-streamed Grade 9 Ontario Science curriculum (SNC1W). This workbook contains informational texts, thinking questions, science investigations, experiments, and a culminating unit test. 

Students will demonstrate an understanding of the components, characteristics, and associated phenomena of the solar system and the universe, and the importance of the Sun to processes on Earth. Topics covered include the Sun, the planets, solar system components, astronomical phenomena, quantifying distances in space, and space technology.

Interactive, hands-on activities are explained, with follow-up worksheets included. There is a variety of readings, long and short answer questions, and creative writing activities included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.

To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations (Strand A and E) are clearly identified on each page. A quiz is included at the end of the workbook.
