Description

Sharon Dennis Wyeth's Something Beautiful is a classic story of hope and understanding. Something Beautiful as a Reader's Theatre is the perfect, No-Prep way to practice reading fluency in a fun and engaging way. Use my Something Beautiful Reader’s Theatre and activities in your classroom and your children will beg you to do it one more time! The students will love retelling this all-time favorite picture book.

This is the perfect addition to your Black History Month read-aloud picture books, but this allows your children to become actively involved.

There are 11 parts in this 9-page script, but they can be adjusted to have more or less. I typically create multiple groups in my class to perform the same Reader's Theatre. They always love watching their classmates AND performing!

Using Sharon Dennis Wyeth's Something Beautiful means your students will get to enjoy high-quality literature while working on important speaking, presentation, and fluency skills. The great part is that even your struggling readers will love it! Fluency skills are easily practiced while allowing all students an opportunity to succeed.

Included in my Reader’s Theatre packet is an explanation behind the use of Reader’s Theatre, suggestions on how to implement it in your classroom, and specific teaching instructions regarding this book!

Simply copy the script, assign the parts, and enjoy the practice, presentation, and related reading activities.

Teaching is hard. I hope I can help with my No-Prep Reader’s Theatre and activities!
