Description

In this VIRTUAL, SELF-CHECKING MAZE with INSTANT FEEDBACK, students SOLVE SYSTEMS of LINEAR EQUATIONS (2x2) using substitution or elimination. Perfect for DISTANCE LEARNING, HYBRID, OR IN-CLASS...it's a highly engaging practice or review activity.

☺INSTANT FEEDBACK: MORTY MONKEY is trying to get to the bananas in the middle of the Rainforest. Students help him by entering correct answers to the given problems. When their answers are right...the maze path appears and leads them to the next problem. BUT - when their answers are wrong...Morty gets hit on the head by a FALLING COCONUT! The students must fix their work and enter the correct answer to be able to move on. They will NOT see the path or the next problem until they fix their work. There is no way to progress through the maze without entering correct answers - great for ACCOUNTABILITY!

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
Understand that solutions to a system of two linear equations in two variables correspond to points of intersection of their graphs, because points of intersection satisfy both equations simultaneously.
Solve systems of two linear equations in two variables algebraically, and estimate solutions by graphing the equations. Solve simple cases by inspection. For example, 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 5 and 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 6 have no solution because 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 cannot simultaneously be 5 and 6.
Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables.
