Description

2 DAYS of Notes and assignments over Solving Quadratics Using the Quadratic Formula.

  • Day 1: Students are introduced to the Quadratic Formula using The Quadratic Formula Skeleton. Students will also use the discriminant to determine the number of solutions.
  • Day 2: Students will go a step further and work more independently, building the quadratic formula from a quadratic equation and then solving. Answer keys include both calculator (i.e. rounded decimals) and simplified square roots answers.

TUTORIAL VIDEO included (no prep to you!) and can be found on my YouTube Channel: Mandy’s Math World - the video is on the Quadratic Functions Unit Playlist! This is GREAT for students who are absent or who need to see the lesson again!

Includes answer keys with work shown.

This is lesson 5 in my Quadratic Functions Unit Bundle for Algebra 1!

Solve quadratic equations by inspection (e.g., for 𝘹² = 49), taking square roots, completing the square, the quadratic formula and factoring, as appropriate to the initial form of the equation. Recognize when the quadratic formula gives complex solutions and write them as 𝘢 ± 𝘣𝘪 for real numbers 𝘢 and 𝘣.
