    Description

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking all or part of the Sun's light. This phenomenon can only happen during a new moon when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from Earth.
There are three main types of solar eclipses:

    1. Total Solar Eclipse: This happens when the Moon completely covers the Sun, casting a shadow on Earth. During a total solar eclipse, the sky darkens dramatically, and the Sun's corona, the outer atmosphere, becomes visible to the naked eye. Total solar eclipses are relatively rare events and can only be observed within a narrow path along the Earth's surface.
    2. Partial Solar Eclipse: In a partial solar eclipse, only part of the Sun is obscured by the Moon as seen from Earth. This occurs when the alignment of the Sun, Moon, and Earth is not perfectly straight, resulting in only a portion of the Sun being covered.
    3. Annular Solar Eclipse: An annular eclipse occurs when the Moon is too far away from Earth to completely cover the Sun. This creates a ring of sunlight around the silhouette of the Moon, giving the appearance of a "ring of fire."

Solar eclipses are captivating events that have fascinated humans for centuries. They often draw large crowds of observers and are accompanied by various cultural and scientific significance. Observing a solar eclipse directly without proper eye protection can be extremely dangerous and may cause permanent eye damage or blindness. Therefore, it's crucial to use special eclipse glasses or indirect viewing methods such as pinhole projectors to safely observe this celestial phenomenon.
