Soil Texture and Plant Growth Lab


Background Information

This hands-on earth science and environmental science laboratory explores the effects of soil texture on germination and plant growth rate. Middle school or high school students will analyze and determine the type of soils that has been collected. Those different soils will be tested using bean seeds and observing germination percentage and growth rate. Everything you need is included, including background information, data observation sheets, calculation sheets, and discussion questions.
