Description
This activity is very good one to start the year with to measure the students' skills and plan accordingly. It helps students to improve their measuring skills and to differentiate between fundamental and derived quantities. They learn how to integrate what they have learned in math to solve a problem related to physics. conversions and dimensional analysis is also integrated. Enhancing interpretation of graphs and exploring 1D and 2D vector addition is also addressed in the worksheet.
You will find:
1. Density of a geometric shape: To improve measuring skills and math skills.
2. Calculating the speed along a circular path: to improve drawing skills of a circle and measurements of angles using protractors and to find a link between geometry and physics.
3. Interpretation of position-time graph: To increase graph skills and differentiate between scalar and vector quantities.
4. Vector Guessing Game: Explore vectors in 1D or 2D, and discover how vectors add together graphically
I have just tried it with my students. The feedback was really amazing after completing the activity and the students learned a lot and felt proud of their work.
