What educators are saying

I love this resource. It’s easy to prepare. My students were able to understand and complete the activities.

Description

These sorting mats and task cards provide a fun and engaging way for your students to learn about sizes! The bright and colorful fall themed design is perfect for a math center, and the mats and cards can be reused again and again. Students will love sorting the different sized objects, and the task cards provide a great way to practice identifying sizes.

My students were having a tough time grasping the concept of sizes. We spent extra time going over the concepts of big, bigger, and biggest; and small, smaller, and smallest. I could tell they were still struggling, so I decided to look for some resources that would make learning about sizes more fun and engaging.

Sizes Small Medium Large Sorting Mats and Task Cards Pack includes:

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe several measurable attributes of a single object.
Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has “more of”/“less of” the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller/shorter.
Order three objects by length; compare the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third object.
Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlaps.
