What educators are saying

Wonderful worksheet. Students worked on it in pairs and were able to further understand the concepts.
This is a terrific way to reinforce the types of government to my Civics students. It is very helpful!

Description

These three resources are meant to be introductory activities for students at the beginning of a unit studying the six types of government. This is great for helping students find examples of ancient and modern-day governments as well as understand them a little better (difference between absolute and constitutional monarchy, difference between direct and representative democracy, etc.) . It can be used to introduce a unit or review before a test. It is also aligned with my reading passage on the same topic ( Six Types of Government Reading Passage ). All questions are written in such a way that they can be answered rather quickly using a simple Google search.

Included are three different webquest sheets, focusing on the six types of government:
- Anarchy
- Monarchy
- Oligarchy
- Dictatorship
- Democracy

This should preferably be used in a middle school classroom. I let students do this in small groups, but it can also be completed individually or for homework.
