What educators are saying

LOVE this resource so much! Work well for my class and they had fun with it! I added some specific questions about nutrients after where students had to analyze the ingredients in a recipe we recently made and put them into specific nutrient categories.
My students were very engaged and enjoyed trying to figure out the puzzles. This is a great activity for a base knowledge on the six essential nutrients.

Description

This introductory lesson introduces the functions and food sources of the six essential nutrients. Students rotate through a series of stations in order to explore each nutrient in depth, recording their information on a graphic organizer.

This lesson was designed for students to scan included QR Codes to access each puzzle. If you do not have iPad/mobile technology available, the slides included can be printed.

Included in this bundle:

1. Lesson Plan (1 day)

3. Graphic Organizer for Students

4. Slides Presentations for each of the 6 Nutrients, linked to the QR Codes

5. QR Codes Pages for Posting in the classroom

6. Exit Ticket Application Ideas

Note: the QR Codes are scannable and lead to GoogleDrive files. Most purchasers are able to access these without issue. For some however, the sharing access of many school districts make it so students are not able to access files from external organizations. This varies by district, but when this happens, I am not able to share it with your students. In this situation the solution is for the teacher to add copies of these files to their own Google Drive and create QR codes to those files within your organization. Certainly, if you don't wish to do this, the QR codes can be bypassed by printing out each set of slides and setting them up directly in each station.
